“La Bamba” · Son jarocho — Veracruz's harp, jarana and requinto son is café music all over Mexico — “La Bamba” was a traditional dance son long before it was a pop hit.
How local music works
Tap Local music in the call controls to play this scene’s music — it stays soft, underneath your conversation.
It ducks and pauses by itself while you or your tutor are speaking, and comes back when the talking stops.
The note above tells you what the music is — ask your tutor about it, name the instruments you hear, and compare it with music from your town.

The Tutor is free to start. Classroom is $199 a year and Grader is $99 a year for teachers, or $278 a year for the bundle of both; schools pay per student per year. See full pricing.
Qualifying schools get a free pilot period. School pricing is per student per year and falls as a school grows, so ask for a quote for a real figure.

The Tutor helps a student practise speaking, reading, and writing in the language they are learning, one tutor at a time, at their own pace.
The Classroom lets a teacher assign that practice, pause it when focus matters, and resume it when the class is ready.
The Grader helps a teacher assess written work faster, so feedback reaches the student while the lesson is still fresh.
